Wedding. A wedding of considerable .interest was held in the Highfield Presbyterian Church • yesterday,when -Mr ■ Clark, manager of the Hermitage, Mt.-Cook, was married by the Rev. A. Mistf Iris Knowles,. of Timaru. The bride was given away by her, father, and was attended by-her sister. Miss llowena Knowles, and. the bridegroom's sister, Mis 3 Clark, as bridesmaids. The best man was Mr James Lilico, while Mr Allen Knowles,' a brother of the bride,'acted as groomsman. .-After the ceremony a reception was.held;at £he Wentworth Tearooms, and later the. happy couple left by the express for the south.

, Chamber of Commerce. The annual * meeting of the South Canterbury L'tiamber of Commerce was held, jester day. The president, Mr J3. Jj'oote, occupied the chair. Rule, of Timaru, sang "The Lord is My Light." the Rer. H. Ford offered prayer, and the hymn, "Abide with Me," was ; sung. Then came the Benediction, and the Geraldine Brass Band played the Dead March. After the service the soldiers, the Cadets, arid the Scouts carried the wreaths to the War Memorial, where they were deposited, and "Lost Post" and "Reveille" were sounded. TEMUKA. - A presentation was made to Mr W. H. Bndd, prior' to leaving for Christchurch, where he has bought, a, business. The Mayor. (Mr G. B. Cartwright) occupied the chair, and there was a fair attendance of Temuka business people. In making the presentation, Mr ■ Cartwright made Eulogistic references to Mr.and Mrs Budd, and on behalf of the Mr White extended thanks to ..them for. their, many kindnesses. Mr Budd suitably replied, and said he hoped to return to Temuka some time later. The office-bearers of the Temuka Presbyterian Church met. on Monday evening to bid farewell to Mr P. G. Franklin and Mrs Franklin. Mr. Franklin has received' transfer) on promotion, to Wellington, on the ataff of the Bank of New Zealand. For the past two years, Mr Franklin has,been treasurer and secretary to the Ch,urch. . The Rev. H. R. Fell presented Mr Franklin with a Kaiapoi rug and Mrs Franklin with a xylonite toilet set. •
