BUSHMAN'S DEATH.

INQUEST AT HOKITIKA. (special to "the pbess.") GBEYMOUTH, April 26. An inquest concerning the death of Arthur A. W. Finch, the victim of the accident at Messrs Malfroy and Co.'s sawmill tramline on Friday, was held at tho Hokitika Courthouse, to-day, before the Coroner, Mr D. J. Evans. After taking evidence, a verdict was returned of accidental doath, no blame being attachable to anyone. The Coroner paid a tribute to deceased's fellow employees, who, ho said, had dono everything possible to alleviate deceased's sufferings from the time of the accident until his entry into the Westland hospital. Ho also eulogised the conduct of deceased's brother, who had consented to the transfusion of a large quantity of his blood. A protest by Mr F. L. Turley, secretary of th 6 Westland Timber Workers' Union, against tho action of the Hokitika police, in failing to notify his Union of the date of the inquest, was noted by the Coroner.
