LEPERS FOR MAKOGAI.
HINEMOA'S CRUISE. (PRESS ASgOCUTIOH TZLKGiUM.) AUCKLAND, April 25. All the lepers living in the territory under the jurisdiction of the New Zealand Government are to bo transferred to tlie large leper station on Makogai Island, Fiji. TL. first part of the work was carried out some time ago, when the lepers in New Zealand were taken to Fiji in the Government steamer Hinemoa. The vessel is due at Auckland on Tuesday from Niue Island and next Thursday will be dispatched to the Cook Islands to embark lepers there and take them to Fiji. Sir Maui Pomare will be a passenger on the Hinemoa. He will be accompanied by Mr J. D. Gray, secretary for the Department of External Affairs. The Hinemoa will first visit Rarotonga and then jjo to Mangaia, Mauke, Atiu, Aitutaki, Palmereton Island, Penrhyn Island, Rakahariga, Manihiki, Pakapuka, Nas6au, and Apia. From the last-named port she will proceed to 'Makogai Island. After disembarking the lepers at the station she returns to Auckland. The cruise is expected to occupy about five weeks.
