While being unloaded at Pontefract railway station, Yorkshire, one of a herd of young bullocks jumped a high -trail, and a hunt began which lasted more than 16 hours. Three mounted IJIOII and six 011 foot took part in the chase, and tho bea9t led his pursuers through woods, colliery yards, and over ploughed fields. At last, in a farmyard not far from where lie first escaped, a man got within shooting distance, and the bullock's career was ended.
