WOOLSTON METHODIST CHURCH.
FAMILY BANQUET. The Woolston Methodist Schoolroom was well filled on the occasion ol a "family banquet" held in connexion with the church anniversary. The Rev. W. H. Speer presided, and there were also present Rev. W. J. 'Wjlliams and Mrs Williams, Rev. G. R. Peterson, Rev. Tanner, and Mr Lomas, president of the Xew Zealand Local Preachers Association. Tea commenced at 6.30, ana the company sat down to which were prettily decorated. The ladies of the church, who were responsible for the arrangements. afterwards received their full measure of praise. Following on the tea, a lengthy toast-list was honoured, and some interesting and amusing speeches were fwo solos by Miss Snook and Mr SnooJc added to the enjoyment of the function. At the conclusion Mr J. Townsend, secretary of the trust, read the annual report and balance-sheet. The report disclosed that good service was being carried out in *ll branches of the church worlc, and the " n *"* rial statement revealed a substantial credit balance.
