BENEVOLENT FUND.
ANNUAL MEETING. The annual meeting of the Citizens' Benevolent Association was held yesterday, the Rev. Frank Rule presiding till the Mayor *Mr J. K. Archer) arrived later. The honorary treasurer, Mr Rule, submitted a statement of receipts and expenditure for the year ended March 31st last. This showed a balance to credit brought forward from the previous year of £B3 2s 4d, and receipts (interest on investments) totalling £26" 0s sd. On the expenditure side was shown the sum of £2OO, representing donations, and a credit balance of £l5O 3s 9d.
The balance-sheet was adopted, and it was decided to invest £IOO of the balance to credit in City Council debentures.
Sister Grace was re-elected secretary, and the Rev. F. Rule treasurer. ft was decided to nominate last year's committee, with tho addition of Sister Elizabeth (of the Sydenham Baptist Church) and Captain Bridge, Salvation Army, for appointment by the Mayor to the Coal and Blanket Fund.
