A number of Durham County miners who were transferred to the Chesterfield district to take up work with the Staveley Coal Company have returned disatisfied with the conditions in Derbyshire. The majority have remained, and other men are volunteering to go. Those who returned do not number more than twenty-five. Among the reasons advanced for the dissatisfaction are lack of street lamps, the absence of a cinema, and the price of beer.
