CARS AND OIL.

NEW ZEALAND AND PERSIA. SIR HARRY BRITTAIN'S IMPRESSIONS. (raoM ntR oww coßßispoxrijrr.) LONDON, March 4. Sir Harry E. Brittain, who was one of the Empire Tress delegation to Australia and New Zealand, gives some of his impressions in an interview in tlic "Empire Mail." Amongst other tilings he referred to the trade in motor-cars

"I do not believe," he said, "that tho average British manufacturer has (he faintest idea of the immense openings in both Australia and Now Zealand for cars made to suit Dominion rcipiirements. It is gratifying to learn 1 hat the import of British ears is at the present moment on the increase, but it, is still only n very small percentage of tho whole. I firmly believe that it would well repay some of the leading men in the industry in this country to visit Australia for themselves, and so become acquainted with the conditions and requirements of the market. Eight through the Commonwealth and New Zealand there is a keen desire to make use of the British car—if the right kind is offered."

On his way home Sir Harry Brittain made a tour of India, and then went on to Persia and Iraq, travelling from Bagdad to Jerusalem. "Nothing iu the whole tour," he said, "struck mo more forcibly than the amazing development in Southern Persia, due to the great Anglo-Persian Oil Company. The work, which is being carried through by Englishmeu —and has been sinco 1909—in this inhospitable-looking region, is stupendous, and must bo seen to be appreciated. "Whole towns have sprung up under an organisation which is as perfect as human foresight could make it, and is now most successfully engaged in wresting from the earth what must in time to come prove to bo the life-blood of British industry. I have never in any quarter found more excellent camaraderie and team-work than I found from end to end of this vast organisation. "A tour of this kind shows one how intensely alive the. British Empire is. If wo take a leaf from the book of the United States and 'go all out' for development, intensive and on a large scale, within the tremendous bounds of our Dominions and Colonies, then I believe that posterity will look back on this twentieth century as the great century of the British Empire." WHAT IS CHLOIIO-MENTHENE? Choloro-JMentlicne is a scientific combination of the most powerful iciwn germicides from the Vegetable Kingdom. It is perfectly harmless and instantly destructive of germs causing diseases of the nose and throat. ChloroMenthene may be inhaled or taken internallv. Sold Dy all chemists.
