LORD READING HONOURED.
CREATED A MARQUIS. (BT CABLE—PMBB ASSOCIATION—COPX&IOBT.) (AtrSTttALIAIT AND MT.Z. CABLX ABSOOUTIOR.) LONDON, April 20. The King has approved of the conferment of a marquisate of the United Kingdom on Lord Reading, late Viceroy of India. [The Earl of Reading was born in 1860. He was created a Knight Bachelor in 1910, a Baron in 1914, a Viscount in 1916, and an Earl in 1917. He was educated at the London University College and on the Continent, and became a Bencher of the Middle Temple In 1904. In 1910 he became AttorneyGeneral, an office which he held until 1913, when he was appointed Lord Chief Justice of England. His appointment as Viceroy and Governor-General of India was made in 1921.]
