CHEQUES BY RADIO.
t FLASHED ACROSS ATLANTIC. (81 cable—press association—copibiqht.) (AUSTEALIAN AlfD N.Z. OABLB ASSOCIATION.) LONDON, April 20. A cheque for 1000 dollars, made out ill London this afternoon, was transmitted to New York by radio, and the photograph presented and paid within an hour. This is one of the remarkable tests carried out with his own system of radio photography by a young American, Captain Ranger. The cheque was photographed on an ordinary negative, placed in the transmitter, and a facsimile wirelessly received in New York. Transmission was automatically executed. The main feature of the apparatus is a glass cylinder, which is pierced by a strong light. As the cylinder moves the cell operates an ordinary wireless telegraph, and tlie circuit produces a facsimile at the receiving star tion instantaneously. Another photograph message sent across to-day was an autographed manuscript by Robert Browning. AUSTRALIA'S BEAM STATION. (AUSTRALIAN AND K.Z. CABLE ASSOCUTTOW.) LONDON, April 20.
