ROSE ON TOUR.
♦ ■ MAY VISIT. SOUTH AFRICA. (srzcui. to "thb press.") WELLINGTON, April 21. Upon their arrival in England, E. A. Rose, the New Zealand champion distance runner, and J. \V. MoHolm, are to get into touch with A. E. Porritt, the N.Z.A.A. Council's representative in England, by whom their movements generally will bo arranged and supervised. Mr McHolm. has been requested by the New Zealand Council to. present to Porritt, a N.Z.A.A.A. blazer and a uniform, in recognition of his services to New Zealand both on and'off tho track. Rose's training quarters aro to be outside London, and it is possible ; that arrangements may bo made for tho New Zealand champion to compete n.fc some minor meetings before he participates in the English A.A.A. championships, which are being held on' Jury 2nd and 3rd. It is hoped that Porritt will compete at this championship meeting as a New Zealand representative instead of as a member of the Achilles Club. Although nothing has been settled regarding the route by which Roso and McHolm will return to New Zealand, there is a feeling amongst members of tho New Zealand Council at the present time that, if possible, the return trip should be made by wav of South Africa, in order that Rose might compete there and so return the compliment paid by Mr C. A. Hadlev in 1922 in sending a Trans-vaal-Jfatal amateur athletic team to New Zealand.
