Harnett was awarded £SOO damages against Dr. Bond for wrongful declar-, ation of insanity The jury found that Harnett was not insane and also that Doctor Fisher did not act with reasonable care in declaring him insane. The Judge, summing up, declared that the case was of considerable importance. It was important and unfortunate to Harnett and also to the doctors and general public, because people liked to feel secure. The Judge intimated that he would hear legal argument on the jury's findings to-morrow. Harnett in 1924 was awarded £25,000 damages against Doctor C. H. Bond, Lunacy Commissioner, and Doctor C. H. Adam, of WestMaling, for. wrongful detention in an asylum, but the House oi Lords quashed the High Court judgment in March, 1925.
