The Federation of British Industries drew the attention of the president of the Board of Trade, Sir Philip OunliffeLlster, to the practical monopoly obtain-, ed by foreign film-producing concerns in kinema programmes throughout the Empire, as most detrimental to British prestige, and prejudicial to the interests Qf the Empire, especially those Dominions containing large coloured populations. r The hope was expressed that the subject would be placed before the Imperial Conference.
