, * The Canterbury School Committees' Association met last "night, the president, Mr G. P. Purnell, presiding. Tho president reported on the scholars' excursion to -tlie Exhibition, tho Junior High Schools' Conference, and tho Homework Conference. • The treasuier's report was read and adopted. . It was decided to forward tho following remit to the annual meetings of householders:—'That the Education Department' be urged to institute a system of Staffing schools according to the roll number instead cf the average attendance." Discussion ensued as to whether a remit regarding junior high schools should be inserted in tho report to householders, but it was decided that it would serve no good ptirpcee at the present time.
