BiUltxds. The Lyttelton Club's weekly flying fifty billiards tournamont on Mqnday night was won by D. Coffins, who defeated L. Blackler in the final. Harbour Light Theatre. "Welcome Stranger," starring Lloyd Hughes' and Florence Vidor, will be repeatod at the Harbour Light Thestre this evening, together with a cartoon, comedy, and a further episode of the new serial, "Wolves of the North." To-morrow "The Goosewoman," a Universal-Jewel production, featuring Louise Dresser and Jack Pickford, will be screened. The supporting programme includes a Buster Brown comedy and a gazette. Ladles' Guild. The usual monthly meeting of the Lyttelton Ladies' Guild in connexion with the British Sailors' Society was hold yesterday afternoon in the Institute. It waß decided to have the meetings alternately, afternoon and evening, for the next six months, thus affording an opportunity for overy member to attend some time. It was also agreed to purchase crockery for use by tho members, tlio matter being left in the hands of Mrs T. M. Curnow. The members have arranged to hold a jumble sale on Hay 21st, all members being asked to give their assistance. One new member was elected. Valedictory.
A very pleasant function took place at the Harbour Light Theatre last evening, when members of tho theatre staff met to farewell the managing director, Mr A. W. Lane, who it leaving on a visit to the 014 Country. On behalf of the staff, the chief operator, Mr H. Hewstone, asked Mr Lane's acceptance of a safety shaving outfit and set of brushes, and Baid it was tho wish of the staff that Mr Lane should take the articles with him on his travels as mementoes of the very pleasant relations that had always existed between the managing director and the staff. Miss R. Harkess, cashier at the theatre, then handed to Mr Lane a dainty travelling manicure set for Mrs Lane, at the same time wishing Mr and Mrs Lane a happy voyage and safe retUMr Lane suitably returned thanks to the members of the staff.
