BAD DECISIONS.
• —: BOXING JUDGES CRITICISED PARKER-WILLIAMS FIGHT. At the Sports Club's adjourned annual meeting last night, when new business was introduced, Mr A. F. Stacey suggested that the meeting should go into committee. Mr Dan Coleman objected to this, and a discussion on allegedly wrong decisions followed, in open meeting.. Mr Coleman said that new judges were to be appointed, and in the latft fight the decision given by the judges was a disgrace. The Club was "going to the pack" unless they got men who knew all .about the game to act as judges. They must do the thing right. The decision in the last fight had been wrong. . . The chairman: That is only a matter of opinion. Mr Coleman: That's all right. You can have a.say after,me. They must get the right judges, he continued, or the Club was going down. He made a statement after the fight,'that the decision was wrong, and. might have caused a riot. Unless they got judges Tyho knew something about boxing where would the Club end upf—ln the mud. He moved that the meeting should place on record that a wrong decision, had been given. The chairman: .You're, right out of order. -The decision.was given by the referee, and is final. Mr Coleman: Well then, the referee's wrong. .. '. Mr Talbot said that it had been decided to get an. outside -referee, and also outside judges if necessary, at all future fights. Mr Coleman: I'm not absent—l'm here,. • : • • ' ; • The chairman (amidst mild applause): You can't attack, a' man dn , his absence;,it's not fair. You must sit down.
