HAWAII ERUPTION
VILLAGE WIPED OUT.
BT AVALANCHE OP LAVA. (bt cable—pbesb associatiox—coptbioht.) CixuTsa'a telioeams.) (Received April 19th, 7.15 p.m.) VANCOUVER, April 18. Kauna, a village of Hoopuloa, on the south-west shor© of the island of Hawaii, was completely wiped out on Sunday morning by an avalanche of lava that burst from the volcano Mauna Loa. Ten to fifteen houses were engulfed. There is no report in connexion with the fate of the inhabitants.
SPECTACULAR DISPLAY. (BEOTEB S rELIO&AMS.) HONOLULU, April 18. The volcano Mauna Loa, at Hilo, is in violent eruption. The eruption was very spectacular to-day as the fiery boulders, some large as houses, starred to roll down the mountain side.
