Kauna, a village of Hoopuloa, on the south-west shor© of the island of Hawaii, was completely wiped out on Sunday morning by an avalanche of lava that burst from the volcano Mauna Loa. Ten to fifteen houses were engulfed. There is no report in connexion with the fate of the inhabitants.
