Returning a verdict of accidental death at an inquest at Matlock, Derbyshire, the coroner remarked that it only showed it was inadvisable to slide down banisters at the age of 70, as did Arthur Neal, hotelkeeper. A doctor stated that he had seen Neal do the slide down the stairs. The evidence showed that he had slipped before, but on this occasion he fell and fractured his skull.
