THE WEATHER. Meteorological observations taken at the Magnetic Observatory, Chriatchurch, at 9.30 a.m. and 5 p.m. on April 19th:—

Forecast. Present indications are for freshening easterlies, northward of New Plymouth and Napier, and moderate to strong easterly winds, backing to northerlies elsewhere; weather mild and hazy generally, with dull and misty conditions at times; scattered rain probable in the northern and East Coast districts. The barometer has a falling tendency. -
