WAVES THAT STAY WAVES. WORCESTER STREET SENSATION. If a sea wave could stay waved, How many sea waves would there be? It doesn't matter much, because the sea waves won't stay "put." They aren't permanent any more; they are ever-changing and have been badly outdone by what the modern art of the hairdresser can achieve.. You can count the waves in the expertlyarranged coiffure, and the waves are permanent, since they last as long as the hair, and women don't run to baldness like poor man. The sensation of the city thiß week is the ocular • demonstration of the Maison Marcelle method of. hair-wav-ing, in Worcester street west. It is the Eugene system of permanent waving. A girl with pefectly straight locks is sitting 'in the Maison window, quietiy reading, with her hair in the process of complete transformation. Crowds gather round all the time watching the. metamorphosis by the magic in the easily-applied devices attached to the hair. .By the end of this week the public will gaze on the finished product, and when the model goes home her mother won't know her—the first wavy-haired girl in the family. This is marcelle . magic going, on right in front of one's eyes—the magic which makes it possible' for a woman with perfectly straight hair to saunter into a cubicle of, the Maison Marcelle, and walk out' three ' hours later with beautiful wavy hair,, guaranteed permanent. The wave is npt affected hy moisture, and one may bathe or get the hair wet. In fact, moisture improves the curl. The old story about-not being able to control the hair after wetting it belongs to grandmother's day. Mrs Olds the high "of this Maison Marcelle magic, and it is interesting to note that the tailoring part of the premises has retreated in the march of hairdressing progress. Gone are the suit lengths from the window, but those who seek good material may purchase cheaply of the small quantity still left. Where the tailors' cutters toiled once, the wonder machines of the Maison Marcelle perform their permanent work while women sit and read what time marcelle magic makes them beautiful.
