SALE OF "BIG BERTHA." NOT MATTER FOR GOVERNMENT. (by cable—press association—copyright.) (austraijaff and k.z. cable association > (Eeceived March 9th, 11.5 p.m.) LONDON, March 8. Mr G. Locker Lampson, in the House of Commons, replying to Sir Newton Moore, stated he had received no information regarding the decision of the Amiens Council to auction war trophies, including "Big Bertha," captured by the Australians in 1918, and presented to Amiens in memory of the Australian defence thereof. Even if the sale were projected, it was not a matter wherein the Government would, with propriety, intervene.
