TRAMWAYMEN'S MATCH. Represetative teams from the Christchurch and Wellington tramways staffs played their annual orick«t match at the Hagley Park Cricket Ground yesterday and on Monday. The Hlatch resulted in a win for Christchurch by 18 runs. s At the close of play on Monday, each side had completed an innings, Christchurch having compiled 204 runs and Wellington 211. The principal scores for Christchurch were L. Smith 86, P. Lye 61, and W. J. Cadenhead 26, and for their opponents, I. Greig 37, J. Tilyard 48, A. Bennett 26 W. Pope 23, and G. Dumbleton 35. Christchurch ' opened their second strike yesterday in an unpromising manner, the first two wickets falling for six runs, but the 'other batsmen made the score up to 129. The principal scorers were D. McKenzie 23, P. Lye 26, W. J. Cadenhead 27. In their second innings. Wellington made 106. of which.the principal scores were: W. Walters 30, L. Greig 15„ and J. Tilyard 16. Last evening the two teams met in the Hazeldean road Social Hall at a smoke concert. Mr J. Bnunton presided over a large attendance. There was a programme of musical and elocutionary items, and during the evening Mr Frank Thompson, manager of the. Christchurch Tramways, presented the cup to the winning team, congratulating the players on their success.
