EXCHANGE OF VIEWS AT GENEVA. GERMAN ENTRY TO LEAGUE. (Bt CABLE— PHESS ASSOCIATION—COPTItrGBT.) (REUTFa'S THLEGa.VMS.I (Received March Bth, 7.15 p.m.) GENEVA, March 7. Prior to the League meeting, representatives of the countries which met at Locarno to negotiate the Khineland Pact, met to exchange views on the questions of the agenda. A communique issued after the meeting stated that there iraa no difficulty experienced in making clear the reciprocal positions of the participants, and adding that this first exchange cf views would be followed by fresh converse tions. Sir Austen Chamberlain subsequently stated that he had a free, full, and frank talk as to Locarno. They had covered the whole ground, but did not find immediately a eolutiou'df all their tfcublrs. Nothing could be decided that day as they could have bound ho 1 body but themselves. Doubtless before they next met for the further exchai *e of views they should find some method of settling their troubles, but they had not done so yet. They had cleared up some misapprehensions and suspicions. They were trying to make the entry of Germany to the League absolutely non-controversial. If, by waiting a day or two, they could assure this result, surely it were better to wait.
