NAVAL MANOEUVRES.

SQUADRON IN HAURAKI GULF. (F3ESS ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM.) WELLINGTON, March 8. The Australian cruiser squadron departed on Saturday afternoon for Hauraki Gulf, where they join the New Zealand ships for manoeuvres. The weather was beautifully fine, and many people gathered along the shores to wave farewell to the departing warships. Commodore Wardle, in a message to the Mayor, expressed gratitude on behalf of the officers and men for the warmth of the welcome accorded them, and also expressed the opinion that the visit would strengthen the ties between the peoples of Australia and New Zealand.
