CRYSTAL PALACE THEAI RE. TWO PARAMOUNT SPECIALS. TO-DAY'S FIXE PROGRAMME. The magnetic Ricardo Cortez and dainty Greta Xissen ate the stars in the big Paramount special "In the Name of Love," which is adapted from Bulwer Lytton's "The Lady of Lyons," which ia to be presented at the Crystal Palace Theatre to-day. Coming from auch a brilliant literary source, the story itself requires no recommendation, as "The Lady of Lyons" was one of Bulwer Lytton's most widely-read works. But a generous meed of praise is due the stars for their brilliant and artistic portrayals, and for the manner in which the picture is produced. It is lavishly staged, and keeps well apace with the elevated circle in which the picture moves. The second feature brings the return of our old favourite, Thomas Meighan, who plays the lead in "Old Home Week." It is a picture rich in dramatic situations, full of humour, and with the unmistakeable Meighan stamp on it. The picture might be explained as a paradox—the story of a successful failure, the man who came back home to make good. As Tom Clark, the struggling petrol-salesman, Thomas Meighan has set a wide gulf between his former characterisations and his present portrayal,, but through it all is his clear-cut artistry and his touches of Irish fire. Lila Le.e is again his leading lady, and earns unstinted pra;«e for her work. The Symphony Orchestra, under the conductorßhip of Mr A. J. Bunz, will play a programme of specially selected orchestral music, including the following:—Overture, "March Away" (Holzman); "Symphony in G" (Haydn); "Casse Noisette" (Tschaikowsky); "Melusine" (Mendelssohn); "La Princesse Jaune" (St. Saens); "Zingaresca" (Monti); "Calliahoe" (Chaminade); "Andantino" (E. Lemare); "Intermezzo" (Brahms). The box plans are at The Bristol Piano Co.
