— / 1 » ARRANGEMENTS FOR CHILDREN'S PARTIES. A meeting of tlie executive of the Children's Exhibition Excursion Committee was hold last night. Presentr: W. W. Rountree (chairman), ana Messrs Puruell, West, and Penlington (secretary). It was decided that the following schools should make the trip, commencing Monday nextSydenham, Aranui, W'luirenui, Spreydon, East Christchurch. Addiugton, IJeckeuham, Phillipstown, Now Brighton, Sunnier, Shirley ; totalling 530 scholars and escorts, Mr 11. F. Penlington is to he supervisor. The children must assemble 011 the railway station not later than 9.15 a.m.—train departs 0.40 a.m. Children arc aslced to wear Canterbury colours. It was decided,that Monday, Bth rnst., was definitely the last da;v on which any applications would be received by the secretary of the executive for any trip. Applications to date total about 1900. A hearty vote of thanks was passed to Messrs Aulsebrool; and Company for their very generous gift of, biscuits to the children on the first trip. About 40 children are coming ov6r from the West Coast. Tliey will have to stay- over the week-end in Christchurch on tho way down to Dmiedin. and homes are required. Parents who are willing to accommodate a child are asked to communicate with Mr Kirk, .secretary. Education Board, as early as possible.
