The Conference between the Christchurch Tramway Board and the Union was completed yesterday. Certain proposals were submitted bv the union, which will be considered at a meeting oT the Board on Alondav.

Earlv yesterday afernoon a tram-car jumped the points near the Tramway Board's office in Cathedral square, and after leaving the rails travelled about 10 yards along the road, which was in consequence slightly cut about. Xo trouble was experienceed in getting the car back on to the track.

The steamer Wairau, which grounded oil the bar at the mouth of the Wairau river nearly a fortnight ago, vras refloated on Wednesday morning. The vessel has been overhauled at Wellington, and re-entered the WellingtonBlenheim service yesterdav.
