LONSDALE BELT.
BOXING RULES ALTERED.
(BY CABLE—PRESS ASSOCIATION— COrTEIGHT.) (AUSTRALIAN AiD N.Z. CABLE ASSOCIATION.) LONDON, January 14. Lord Lonsdale is completing arrangements whereby the Lonsdale Belt matches will bo thrown open to the world instead of being confined to the Empire. This, it is expected, will revolutionise the existing conditions of boxing, and! will prevent a champion retaining the title through years of inactivity. He TV-ill be obliged to meet at least one challenger annually. The new conditions will also be the means of reducing the commercialism which at present is largely governing hosing.
