WEST COAST LINE.
YESTERDAY'S EXPRESSES THROUGH. The work of repairing the section of the West Coast railroad that was washed out is going ahead steadily. A temporary line has been constructed and some of tho waiting goods were transported across tho gap yesterday. The remainder will be carried over today. It is difficult to say when the „work of repairing the permanent way will be finished,' as the river has not completely subsided. The expresses passed through yesterday, the train from the West Coa.st arriving in Christchurch only ten minutes late.
