A fall of earth in the Wath main colliery, South Yorkshire, on Tuesday evening, entombed two miners, Poole and Flinders. Rescue parties had to remove hundreds of tons of debris and had practically given up hope till, at midnight on Friday, they heard tappings. Then Poole's voice could be distinguished. Redoubled efforts resulted in the rescue of Poole at eight o'clock this morning in a state of collapse after his eighty hours' ordeal. The search continues fpr Flinders.
