• Personal. Dr. and Mrs B. H. Gilmour are leaving today, on ■» motor tour of South Canterbury and Otago, and will visit the Dunedin Exhibition. Miss K. McCormiek and Mr G. Shepheard of the West Lyttclton School, are to enter the Christchurch Training College next year. Salvation Army Hall. A concert by the children of the Salvation Army Sunday School will bo given in the Salvation Army Hall to-night. A good programme of recitations, flag, and wand drills, anq action songs has been arranged. Band of Hope. The final concert of the Lyttelton Band of Hopo will bo held in the Oddfellows' Hall to-night, when a good musical programme will be submitted. The Pictures. There will be a complete change of programme at tho Harbour Light Theatre tonight when "Tho Talker," starring Anna y. Nilsson, will be screened with a good supporting programme. To-morrow, "A Cafe in Cairo," featuring Priscilla Dean, -will bo shown-, together with a comedy, cartoon, gazette, and a further episode of "The Iron Man.". West lyttolton School. At a meeting of ladies interested in the West Lyttclton School it was agreed to hold a s-chool fair on the same lines as last year. Stallholders were appointed, ■ and arrangements made for a jumble sale, cake stall, and other successful features. . ' Gnu Club. The Lyttelton Gun Club held a successful shoot at Officers' Point on Saturday afternoon for a trophy presented by Messrs Hammond and Turner. A. L. Miller, on ,10yds", won with the possible, nine birds, and Roberts and Muir divided tho sweepstake. A second sweepstake was won by Cf. Blackler and H. Blackler (equal), who. divided the money. Dance. A. dance, organised' by members of the Trinity Hockey Club, assisted by the Lyttelton Marine Band, who provided the music for the dancing, was held in the Excelsior. Hall on Saturday night with the object of raising funds tp help to send the Lyttelton Sea Scouts to* the Exhibition Jamboree. Owr two hundred dancers were present, and a, very enjoyable evening was spent. Messrs A. Graham and W. Pattison were M.C.'s. Extras wero played by Miss C. Willman, and Messrs N. Bradley and E. Simmonds. During the evening the Mayor (Mr F. E. Sutton) thanked thoso' present for assisting the Scouts. The amount raised by the dance, about £l4 or £ls, would, wi'th the' amount already in hand, be about sufficient to send all tho Sea Scouts to Dunedin. Ladies' Swimming Club.

The Lyttelton Ladies' Swimming Club opened the season on Saturday afternoon at Corsair Bay. There was. a good attendance of members and friends, the season being declared open by the Mayor (Mr P. E. Sutton), whb' wished the club a pleasant and successful season, and expressed a hope ihat it would continue its good work amongst the youig swimmers. It was to be regretted that tho club was losiDg its president, Mrs Colin Cook, and secretary, Miss if. Cook, after many years' service, and also the handicapper, Mr C. Mazey. The new presiden of the club, Mrs E. E. Sutton, the presented Mrs Cook with a pyrex dish with a silver stand, and Miss Cook with a bridge outfit. Mr Mazey was handed a gold Eversharp pencil. i Owing to the chilly nature of the weather many of the entrants for the afternoon's events did not participate in the racing. The results wore as follows:

50yds Handicap—Miss V. Gowcr (12see) 1, Miss M. Miller (scr) 2. Jifisses M. Crawford (ssec) and N. Curtis (15sec) also started. A close finish. , ' 25yds Handicap—Miss MV Crawford (,Bsee) 1, Miss M. Miller (scr) 2. • Misses N."Curtis M. Sutton (lOsec), P. Hoffman (3sec), and V. Gower (ssec) also started. Novelty race—Miss M. Miller 1, Miss V. Gower 2. Afternoon, tea was served by the ladies* A.O.F. ' ' ■ ( The weekly euchre tournament and dance •were held in the Foresters' Hall on Saturday evening. The winners of the euchre tournament were as .follows: —Ladies, Mrs A. Torrans 1, Mrs W. White 2, Mrs E. Bald 3. Gentlemen, Mr T. Beecroft 1, Mr J. Griffiths 2, Mr J. Bloom 3. After the euchre tournament supper was served and the remainder of the evening was spent in dancing to music supplied by Mr N. McCormick. Mr L. Thomas was M.C.
