Mr A. Hwris, M.P. for Wwtemata, arrived in Wellington on Wednesday. Mr A. B. Donne, of Wellington, is visiting Christchurch. Mr Malcolm Fraser, Government Statistician, has returned to Wellington from the south. Mr E. A. Shrimpton, C&ief Telegraph Engineer, is visiting Blenheim and Nelson on departmental business. The Hon. Cr. J. Anderson is in Wellington at, present, but will go south, next week. Mr R. W. Dalton, his Majesty's Senior Trade Commissioner in Australia, is visiting Wellington. The Prime Minister, the Hon. J. G. (Coates, attended the Whangarei A. and P. Show on Thursday, -and will return to Wellington to-day. The Hon. R. F. Bollard, who left Wellington on Wednesday to open the Stratford Show, will return to Wellington by the end of the week. Sir Charles Campbell, Bart., and Lady Campbell, of Cheviot Hills, Canterbury, are returning by the Remuera, due at Auckland to-day. Mr Farquhar Young has been appointed adjudicator in the elocutionary section at the Gisboroo Competitions Society 3 s next festival. The Hon. C. E. Statham, of the House of Representatives in the last Parliament, was in Wellington on Wednesday. Judge H. Fv Ayson, of the Cook Islands, is visiting Wellington on official business. He will return to Rarotonga in a fortnight's time. Mr S. S. Dean, chairman of the New Zealand Rugby Union, met with a painful accident a few days ago, fracturing a foot while playing tennis. Captain F. Macintosh Ellis, Director of Forestry, has returned to Wellington from an official.tour of Marlborough Sounds, Nelson, and West Coast in connexion with forestry matters. Mr T. M. Henderson, of Vancouver, British Columbia, arrived in Wellington by the Makura. He is a commissioner of the Westminster Presbytery to support a call in the Wellington Presbytery addressed by tho Central Presbyterian Church, Vancouver, to the Rev. 8. Robertson Orr, of St. Andrew's Church. Dr. C. E. Maguiro, medical superintendent of the Auckland Hospital, returned by the Mahana, after a trip to Great Britain and the Continent extending over seven months. Mrs Maguire was comnelled to remain in London for specialist treatment. Miss Ellie Maguire, who has gained some success in short-story writing, is also remaining in London.
