Theae were the cups given by Mr M- Kamaay, of Kaiapoi, lor the school gaining most points in grade A, by tho North (lanterirary Schools' 9P°?» Association for grade "B," and fcy B. Rogers, of Waiau, for grade "C. T«> rivalry among tho rations ochoolß was "very keen, and competitors wero cheered in every event by parents and echoohnateß. Frequently the finishes were ve?y close, and many of tho performances were meritorious. Of the 46 echoolfl in the area, 21 were represented, and the competitors numbered over 800, while ahont 3000 children were present. Tho arrangements were -very compete, and the organisation of the programme excellent. The secretarial duties were carried out hy Mr T. A. Morland. ot Kaiapoi, and the teachers of the competing ■schools assisted! in carrying through the programme, . The "A" grade cup was won by Kaiapoi (%j points). Rangiora. were runnera-up with S3J, and Oxford filled third place with 39. Ohoka, -with 62 points, -won the "B" grade onp. Cust filling second place with 54. In grado "C" "Waikuku were successful with 55 points, Fornside being second with 26, Mid Horsley Downs and Springbank equal third with 23.
