OBITUARY.
MR THOMAS STOKES. There died at Waimate another old Canterbury pilgrim, 'Mr Thomas Stokes. Deceased came out with his parents in the Randolph at the age of 13. Ho lived at Riccarton for a year and. worked with his father in the Papanui Bush till it was cut out, and then oh' their fhrm on the Harewood road for sonie years. For the last 40 years ho had lived at Waimato. His wife died 20 years ago. He leaves two sons and one daughter, 24 grandchildren, and 14 great grandchildren to mourn their loss. Mr Stokes has three sisters living, Mrs Morriss (Waikuku), Mrs Winter (Swannanoa), and Mrs Connell (Victoria).
