CABLX ASSOCIATION.) ; y • SYDNEY, November 27. . .The force of the explosion in the „ JBanktonm quarry was so terrific that . the Tictims' bodies were found thirty * feet from the edge of the quarry. The explosion shifted two hundred ions of stone and the men received the force oKit. The victims were*, shockingly mutilated. Two of thosff injured are not ' expected to recover. O'Brien has been identified as a resident of lidcombe. The accident occurred a few minutes before work would have ended for the dav. The opinion is held that th 6 men weie ramming home a charge of gelignite when the charge exploded. TA previous message said: An accident at Phillips's stone quarry, Bankstown, resulted in two men being killed outrigßt. One man, Allan Phiffips, of . Bankstown, died later, and two others were so severely injured that ' Ijhey will? probably- succumb. Claude Burjon and Jack Whymon, both of Lidoombe, were blown' 50 feet in the air, the bodies being horribly mutilated. The injured are: Morgan Jones, of Oabramatta. and Arthur O'Brien, whose address is unknown.]
