AORANGI "ARRESTED."
PASSENGER'S ACTION FOR SLANDER. (BT CABLE—PKKSS ASSOCIATION'—COPTRIGHT.) AHD S.Z. CABLE ASSOCIATION.) HONOLULU, November 25. The Aorangi was held up hero for several hours to-day. in custody of the United States 'Marshal pending tlio filing of a bond' to cover libel proceedings brought against the ship by William Howard Doody, an actor, and his ■wife. Doody alleges that on the last trip from Sydney a steward "beat him up" and slandered him. The couple claim damages amounting to 26,000 dollars for loss of contracts, personal injuries, and a doctor's bill.
