Theodore has now definitely been defeated for the Herbert seat. Dr. Nott; who has been, returned, is a young man who has made rapid advances in his profession. In 1923 he stood for the State seat, hut was defeated by the Labour coacfidafe, Mr Smith, by 2652 votes to 1931. His decision" to contest'the Herbert electorate against Mr Theodore was at the' unanimous call of the Nationalist branches within the electorate. Dr. Nott secured his degree'at tho Svdney University. He lias*a striking personality, and is a fluent, forceful speaker. Before setting up in practice at Mackay ho was engaged on the hookworm campaign conducted by the Rockefeller- Foundation.
