The Council of the Philosophical Institute of Canterbury records, with regret, in its annual report the death of IXr. A. Dendy, formerly a president and a secretary of the Institute, Mr Donald Petrie, F.N .Z.lnst., and or three members, Miss E. Kitchingham, Mr R. C. Bishop, and Mr A. Fairbairn.
