VICTORIA LEAGUE.
ANNUAL CONFERENCE. (rBESS ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM.) DTJNEDIN, November £l. Tho Victoria League Conference opened this morning, tho Hon. G. M. Thomson presiding. The Mayor welcomed delegates irom all parts of tho Dominion. A motion of sympathy -with the Royal Family in the death of Queen Alexandra passed. Remits in regard to immigration were passed:— "That f-.s New Zealand will bo called on to absorb many migrants from the .Homeland, greater care should be urged on the Government in the selection," and "that the Victoria League undertake further responsibility for their welfrxe and settlement." A Dunedin remit advocated the support of any proposition regarding temnorarv housing or lodging" for assisted Immigrants.
