SYDNEY. November 23. After the defeat at the elections aii effort ig being made to clean up the iAbour Party and purge it of the Ked element. This may lend to a split in the Party. The faction in control of the I'arty executire is preparing to launch an attack against the Reds, who exercise a controlling influence on the Trades and Labour Council.

At the next meeting ot the executive a resolution will be moved: —"That the Australian Labour Party refuses affiliation to any union which is linked up with the Trades and Labour Council, and that the bodies connected with the Trades and Labour Couucil bo disallowed any representation in any connexion with the Labour Party meetings while the. Labour Council remains affiliated with the Third Internationale. - '
