The official announcement that the Ml disaster was duo to a collision with the Yidar astounded London, because no mention had been made previously of any craft being in the vicinity, and the previous official announcement stated that Ml was Been to dire. At the same time great relief is expressed, a: the latest communique disposes finally or the rumours of defects in the lost submarine. A remarkable statement is made, with reserve, regarding possible survivora. Albert Stiles, living in a Hampshire village, declares that he lias received a telegram from a cousin who was a member of (lie crew of the submarine: —"Picked up with two others, by Greek steamer, alive and well. - ' Confirmation of the message is anxiously awaited.
