PATROLS APPOrNTED. The Christchurch City Council lias decided to appoint, patrolmen for Opa.wa, Park, where damage has Ix-cn done i>> malicious persons to tho trees and con-c-enicJicics. At last night s meeting of the Council* the Abattoir and Pvcservcs Committee reported that it had been mentioned to the Council some lime ago that considerable damage was being done to the trees and convenioucics in. Opawa Park, and a .suggestion, was made that, it might- he rdvisahle to. appoint some gentlemen who would exercise a certain amount of supervision. In this connexion Mr C. V. Harvey was approached for .suggestions, and he had submitted the names ot gentlemen who would Ik> willing trn undertake the duties. The Committee recommended tlict they 1-e appointed and furnished with the necessary authority. The names were: Johu Fordo, TV "Pcacrani, W. Mnrquet, ami C. V. Harvey. The recommendation was adopted.
