WELSH FAIR.
IN AID OF PHILLIPSTOWN
PARISH
The Art Gallery presented an animated scene yesterday afternoon and evening when the Welsh Fair, in aid of the PhilL-pstown Parish, held under tho Christchurch Cambrian Society, was opened. Tho opening ceremony was performed Dy the Mayoress (Mrs J. K. Archer), in the absence of Mr Archer m Dunedin. The following stalls were in operation: —-rancy and book stal, Mrs Lang, Mif-sea Pike, do Vaux, Jones, Thompson, and Page; Sanotuajy Guild stall, the" members; flower staJl, Mrs Bo't and Miss Williams; ice cream, Mrs Leigh and Miss Desmond; cakes, Mrs E A. Mapplebeck and Miss A. C. Spenoe; work stall, 'Mrs Cragg, Mrs Nafih, and Mrs Donovan; produce stall, Mrs Chick and Mr L. Franklin; Crusaders' stall, Mrs Joughm; chocolate throw, Mr King. A' baby show was controlled by Miss Pike and Sisters Cox- and Jones. . In the evening a cabaret dance was held under the eupsrvision cf Miss E. C. Thomas. AH the stallholders wore tho picturesque W"e'eh costume. The fair will be continued ih : .s afternoon and evening.
