SUMNER HIGH SCHOOL.
* TWO ENTERTAINMENTS. The stair of the Sumner District High School entertiincd- the committee and their friends , at a social on Wednesday evening. Tha programme consisted of dancing, cards, and musical items. Solo items, were contributed by Misses Nancy Bowden, Bessie Brown, and Muriel "Wilson. During the evening Miss S. A. Paul, a member of the staff, \rho is leaving for Auckland, was presented by Mr 3 W. H. Nicholson (Mayoress) on behalf of- the staff and committee with a Eilver teapot as a small token of their regard. A very successful concert given last night in aid of the picnic and prize fund of tho school. Items contributed by Mis 3 Montgomery's pupils and others were of a high order of merit and were much appreciated by a large audience. Ihose taking part included Misses Doria Tankard, Melva Cater, Doreen Oliver, Edn& Miles, Kathleen Chappel, Irene Stone. Montgomery, Alma Finnerty, Jean Potter, and Mr Richard Maloney. At the conclusion of the concert Mr G. A. Alexander thanked all thos© who had assisted.
