CANTERBURY CLUB.
The Canterbury Pigeon Flying Club Iraki its first old bird race of the season from Kflitokp.. One bnads*ed and twenty-nine birds -were sent, divided amongst twenty owmeis. ' The birds were liberated by the stationmaster at 9.30 a.m., under conditions unsuitable for successful racing, rain prevailing over the course, which prevented any of the birds homing during the day of liberation. The winning bird, Crash, the property of A. Jones, homed early the following morning, followed later, by G. Robertson's No. 227, these being tho osnly two birds to home in tho time allowed for the race. The winner's time for the distance of 221 miles 1450 yards was lOhra 28min 4seo. A. Jones wins tho special prize given by Mi McClatcby.
