A Jew words calculated to make the average elector think about his duty on November 4th were said by the Prime Minister at Wanganui to-day. "Wo arc appealing to the country, :1 he said, ''and asking the people to send back to Parliament, a strong stable Government. "We know there are insidious influences at work -which will quickly undermine those institutions which British people feel it a privilege to own. The men who are endeavouring to accomplish this purpose arc not of our blood, and one-meets many who are concerned about other countries. '■While wc are ready to help with international affairs, our first, concern is for our own people. For that reason 1 am asking you to send back to Parliament a. Government which will be t'reo of any sectional influence, a Government with a. sufficient majority to impose its will on any section which has not the interests of the country at heart. lam asking you to send to Parliament men who are going to stand "by the Government. That is tho point. Any half-hearted measure of support cannot make for good Government. "We must have loyal supporters, and sufficient of them. "I ask you definitely to vote for the candidates pledged to support inc. otherwise it is no use saying you want me to lead the Government in the next Parliament. You can have no'difficulty in deciding about policy, you have the Labour Party on the one side, .and the Government on the other. Where, do the rest come in-"' Voices: No where.
