BENEFIT CONCERT.

Recently the Christohurch Savage Club ' at the request of the West Spreydon Tennis and Debating Club gave a Korero at the Masonic Hall for the benefit of indigent consumptive patients and their dependents. < After an instrumental trio, contributed by members of the Savage Club Orchestra, a pianoforte eolo by Savage -Robilliard, and two songs by Savage G. M. Smith, a programme of music and etory by Savages, set in a dramatic framework of the date ISoO, written by Savage T. W. Rowe, was staged with appropriate ccstnmes and scenery. The singers were Savages H. Hobbs ("The. \Ulage Blacksmith"), G. Russell (''Passing By"). T M. Charters ("The Englishman ), P. Morrison and Vincent ("The Armv and ~avv">, Wilson ("The Gallants of England ), and'McKivett <song and hornpipe!). Savage Oakes contributed a cornet solo. The storytellers all in humorous vein, were Savages R. Dobbin, T. W. Howe and A. Owen while Savage Sheridan impersonated Sam W cl-cr-Savage G. M. Hall was inimitable as the Village Inn-keener, keeping open house on hisllirthdav, and Savaerc Dr. Douglas Anderson as "an old-fashioned village doctor caused much merriment. At the conclusion Mr G. A. Gilchrist, president of the \\e. ? t Spreydon Tennis Clnb, expressed his clubs indebtedness to the Savasje Club.
