WALTHAM SCHOOL COMMITTEE.
At the monthly meeting of tho "Waltham School Committee there -were present: Meeera A. J. Turner (chairman), A. B'.ackler, H. "Watts, H. Palmer, TV. Pegley, "W. Schumacher, A. Simmonds, W. Symons (secretary),- and Mr • C. Bourke (headmaster). The chairman referred to ins death of itr S. D. Besley, an ex-commit.
teeman, and a roto of sympathy was passed ' to Mrs Besley and family. Sympathy was also expressed with Mr J. Milton in the illness of Mrs Miltjon. The headmaster reported aa follows: Number on roll 674, averago attendance 588. The inspector'* report was favourably commented upon, and the staff were accorded hearty congratulations on the efficiency of the wort during the term. Work in connexion; with the basketball ground is being pushed ahead, being ready for i sowing. The assistant-master (Mr J. EggletoA) agreed to supervise the scwiag, etc „
