IN ASHBURTON BOROUGH. i As tho Ashbarton Borough by-laws regulating tho speed of motor vehicles j had been declared ultra vires by Mr E. i D. Mosley, »S M., the Borough Council repealed them at its night, and passed new by-laws \|hieb. allow vehicles increased speeds. Motors will now be allowed to proceed at 18 miles an hour along East gtreet from about the traffic bridge to the NorthJSaat Belt. The previous speed limit was 15 miles per hour. The limit aver intersections was increased from 10 to 12 miles per hour and along tho Town Belts from 16 fco 25 miles per hour. The rate along practically .rjl the other streets in the borough was fixed at 20 miles per hour, the previous limit having been 15 miles per hour* »
