NORTH BEACH NOTES.

; The North Beach Gala Committee held its | weekly euchre party on Saturday, when there was a good attendance. The' gentlemen's prizes went to Mr Low and Mr Williamson, while the ladies' prizes were won by Mrs McDonald and Mrs Lewis. The bachelors of Jubilee avenue gave anI other of their enjoyable socials in the Ozone Cafe on Saturday. There was a good attendance of young people, and a very jolly evening was- spent. The chaperons were Mesdames Scott, Good, Buemelberg, Thompson, Legg, Parker, Gowanlock, Duncan, and Barrett. Games and dances were indulged in till midnight, the music being supplied by Misses Elsa Gowanlock, Iris Hntton, and Leslie (piano), and Mr W. Stevens (cornet). J. L. Scott, J. B. Willmott, and C. Bent were M.O.'s. Owing to the number of young people attending tho socials who cannot dance, the various social committees have arranged to hold weekly dancing classes in the Memorial Hall. The North Beach School Committee has received an application for permission to nse the school during the New Year holi-days-from the Anglican Church Girls" Bible Class Union, which proposes holding its annual camp in North Beach this year. Seventeen entries have been sent in from the North Brighton United Band of Hope for the annual Band of Hope competitions to be held in October next. Messrs Ryan Bros, hare completed their contract for channelling in Britannia street.
